Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility (DEIA), and Social Justice

Atlas Yoga Studio and School strives to include all members by building a compassionate and nurturing culture where diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusive practices are natural responses rather than an initiative. We respect the unique characteristics, skills, and experiences of our community and value the contributions of its diverse members. We recognize that equity of opportunity and access to Atlas’ programs, services, and resources are part of our mission.

Atlas also acknowledges that certain groups in our society are treated inequitably because of individual and systemic biases such as those related to geography, race, color, culture, ethnicity, linguistic origin, disability, socioeconomic class, age, ancestry, nationality, religion, faith, sex, gender, sexual orientation, and family or marital status. We acknowledge that biases exist within our organization. Therefore, Atlas is committed to ensuring that fairness, equity, accessibility, and inclusion are integrated into all of our policies, programs, operations, and practices. We strive for respect, compassion, and inclusion throughout our organization, its membership, and in the communities we serve.

About Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, accessibility and Social Justice

The director and other team members have been considering what we really mean by diversity in Atlas. Its current working statement is the following:

Atlas Yoga Studio and School values are those of inclusion, connection, belonging, and relationship with members of all yoga traditions, ages, races, ethnicities, faiths or secular orientations, abilities, gender identities, languages, and socioeconomic status. Atlas Yoga Studio and School will continue to build upon the high standards already set for achieving more diversity within our membership. We invite all individuals who have an interest in yoga to become a part of our community.
