What is Kurma AquaYoga?
Essentially, water yoga works by performing yoga poses in your swimming pool or spa to get a low-impact, full-body experience that helps to improve strength, balance, range of motion and presence of mind. Classes include asana, pranayama, mudras, bandha, meditation and other yoga technology. Our training includes foundations in working with the element and properties of water and water safety.

THE POWER OF WATER, YOGA, SOMATICS & MINDFULNESS TO FOSTER TRANSFORMATIVE CHANGE
This unique 4 day certificate program is designed for yoga teachers, yoga therapists and other complimentary and alternative health care providers wanting to explore a water based yoga approach that combines the power of somatics, the tradition of yoga with mindfulness to fosters transformative change.
This program brings together Denise’s over 40 years of experience to offer a holistic, body-centered method to create impact, integration, and acceleration. This unique program provides a collection of practices and tools that guides the change process for yourself and your work with others.
Through an experiential approach, participants will embody the core principles and processes to guide clients and groups in holistic, transformational, and impactful practice.
This integrative approach to teaching will empower you to help your clients gain access to their body, thoughts, feelings, beliefs, attitudes, behaviours, and relational patterns that have obstructed them from living their full potential. Through a balance of depth processing and action-focused practices, Kurma AquaYoga empowers clients in addressing the obstructions to achieving their goals, realizing their life vision, transforming stuck patterns, and strengthening body, mind and spirit.
This program draws on body-centered therapy and somatic teaching and coaching practices, including Yoga, AquaFitness, Gestalt, Hakomi, Focusing, Body-Mind Centering, Somatic Experiencing, the Expressive Arts, Strozzi Somatic Coaching, Somatic Stress Release, and Mindfulness.

What you will learn in this Program
We will learn all the basics water principles, how to use yoga poses and other techniques in watery environments but we will also learn

Kurma AquaYoga Teacher Training Certificate
All students who complete the requirements below will receive a Kurma AquaYoga Teacher Training Certificate from Atlas Yoga School. The requirements to receive the Certificate are:
• Attend the live sessions and/or watch the recordings
• Complete the Self Evaluation & Reflection forms
• Complete 8 hours of practice teaching outside of class times and reach out to another student in the program and have a meaningful conversation about the program. A template for the practice sessions and prompts for the conversation will be provided.
• Dates to complete by 3 months after the final modules of the last live session (extension available on request)
• Full payment has been received
