Fifth Wave Initiative is Canada’s first feminist business accelerator. It offers a suite of programs and services for women-owned/led businesses in southern Ontario’s digital media sector to accelerate and sustain growth. Programming focuses on radically inclusive feminist business practices and weaves feminist ideals of equity and fairness into business sustainability and scalable growth. And we have been chosen for the Fifth Wave Connect - the first step in connecting with professionals in the Canadian Film Industry. The pandemic expedited our venture into the world of film and documentary. We are looking to grow and expand our digital presence and we are excited to have the support of the Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab project “The Fifth Wave Connect” program choose us to be a part of their larger vision.
“We are changing the screen industry for the better.” Maxine bailey joined the CFC as Executive Director in May 2021, with a new vision for the organization: for diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility to drive and inform everything at the CFC, across all operations and offerings. To make the CFC more inclusive and accessible for staff, residents, mentors, board members, community members and all interested parties and Canadian creators in the screen industry. Here we grow with some pretty powerful women with us.
So very grateful to be on this journey at this moment in time. Join our programs this fall and be a part of history in the making.
