We have launched a new scheduling system....Acuity

The past year has transformed the way that we do business and while I miss people, hugs and human contact, we have embraced the reality of our world and expanded into the world of virtual yoga. Through research, those of you who know me, know that I can procrastinate with the best and finding the best fits for technology (web hosting, online shopping apps, online scheduling systems and the world of zoom, recording, editing and producing for YouTube, social media and online courses). So we, Jamie Kashaul, Pavan Ubhi, Sarb Rai and Danielle Hughes all pulled together to create our account and try to make sense of this new world and create an intuitive and easy to use system.

We are still experiencing some glitches, but over all it is going well and we are working out the kinks. So, if you got an email and are having any trouble getting in to use your member code, drop us a line at [email protected] and we will sort it out together. If you are trying to get in to a class, email or text me and I will send you the class code if you somehow miss it. Give yourself time, the new system likes for you to register for class in advance, but you can always decide at the last minute but need to let the teacher know if you are trying to get in.

We appreciate your patience throughout this process. In the not so distant future we will be able to support you better with this system and it will support us as we wait to see how the province is going to manage the times and small business.

New classes on the schedule this month include a 12pm yoga break on Mondays and Wednesdays with Danielle and live prenatal yoga classes will be back January 7, 2021, Thursdays at 5:30pm. Let us know how we are doing and what you would like to see on the schedule. Shannon would like to add a challenging evening class, is there a day that is better for you? Drop us a line or respond in the comments here.

Studio Update

COVID19 update - take care of you…

We did a little research to share some of the notes on how to stay safe and help to keep others safe at this time. We continue to offer online programming and we are working on finding safe ways to bring us back together as a community. There is much information both well researched and documented and a lot of fear based misinformation being shared. We choose to work with the premise that regardless of who is right to err on the side of caution and maintain socially distanced programs and classes. We will keep our community updated as we find our way through this time as well. We wish we were in studio with you, but we are grateful for those who continue to practice online with us.

Queer Yoga

New Class at Atlas Studio 7:30pm (EST) Saturdays, Starting Saturday, April 25, 2020

Step onto the mat with a community that admires your true colours. This is a class dedicated to queer folks and their allies, and a chance to honour the beautiful diversity of self-expression we have in our community.  Exploring movement and breath can be a vulnerable experience, so this will be a heart-centred practice that honours the courage it takes to show up for ourselves and to practice together. This samāsa (fusion) class is open to all levels of experience, all body types, and all expressions of gender and sexuality - please bring your authentic self.

In striving to create a safer space for everyone joining this class, we invite you to reach out and let us know how we can best support you in your practice. If you have any questions or concerns around working with your body, we will be happy to navigate them however you are most comfortable, either inside or outside class.

*For clothing optional practice, we kindly ask you to practice without video, in order to respect the comfort levels of all participants.

Mark Zupan (he/she/they) began practicing yoga in 2004, and has trained primarily in a fusion of Kripalu and Ashtanga traditions, as well as Anusara and Hatha yoga. Bringing a wide range of physical and artistic practices to the mat, from ballet to drag, burlesque and beyond. Mark and his partner reside on the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ lands known as Victoria, BC, where he works and plays as an architect, orchestral musician, and gender-fluid performance artist.

The beauty of group yoga practice is that we can set our own intention, plant the seeds of our desire in the fertile ground of group support through this challenge.  By creating space in our lives for a daily practice and awareness of the habits of mind we can begin to fulfill our intentions and be internally movtivated as well as externally motivated by peer support and the satisfaction of meeting those goals

This challenge is specifically designed for you! You choose your level of commitment and what your yoga and meditation will be on a daily basis.

We will provide you with daily motivational emails/facebook posts, links to useful resources, specially designed class based on Ayurveda Yoga for the spring.

There will be several classes added to the studio schedule for the duration of this challenge and special pop-up workshops just for you. That schedule will be available later this month.
