In this workshop we will explore the way of looking at Anatomy and the human body. We will explore the skeleton, muscles, fascia and how skin drops over it all. We will examine the alignment of all systems in the context of yoga poses.

There will be at least a full hour of working with a model in various yoga poses to integrate the learning methodology.

Learning to look with both sides of the brain can improve posture analysis and the ability to draw what is versus what we think we are looking at.

What to bring: Large scale newsprint, conte or charcoal, pastels or other coloured art materials, pencils Kleenex or paper towels. Yoga mat and/or something to sit on the ground with.

All Yoga Teacher Trainings are a little different. Each teacher shines brightly with a passion for yoga. One of our favourite workshops coming up is part of our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Certificate Program and an elective for our advanced yoga teacher training and yoga therapist training courses.  You do not need to be a yoga teacher or teacher in training to join us for this workshop. Beginners welcome!

We will be sharing an intimate time of meditation, diving deep into archetypal sacred geometry, inviting what is alive in us to surface and be shared with the world in a manifest way.  Sometimes it is light and angelic and sometimes it is dark and foreboding, sometime in colour and other times just an idea. We welcome it all on the path of yoga and art as a healing modality.

Integrative Breathwork

Integrative Breathwork

Integrated breathing works on the principal that there is a direct connection between the psychological, emotional, spiritual and physical well being and the breath. The use of breathing techniques produces a self-generated altered state of consciousness that can be used as a healing tool.

Integrated breath therapy is a highly personal, experiential process that uses specific breathing techniques to clear out physical, mental and emotional blocks or stresses. This is a safe and proven method of utilizing simple breathing practices to quickly and easily enter into a non-ordinary state of consciousness. This trance state allows unconscious and previously repressed thoughts and emotions to rise to the surface for release and integration.

Our facilitators are trained to support individual and group experiences in a safe and restorative environment. The breath can integrate it all.

Cleaning Out Technique

Cleaning Out Technique

Dr. Wright brought this spiritual cleansing technique back with him from Burma where he was a cultural attache. The principle technique he learned and practiced is a variation on what is called the "breath of fire" in Hatha Yoga. But what Dr. Wright learned is a separate discipline in its own right because it employs a specific combination of breath and focused intentionality to spiritually cleanse the body, section by section. The rhythmic breathing clears the aura almost scientifically. Healing can take place "out of the overflow of spirit," as Dr. Wright says.

This workshop is lead by Denise Davis-Gains; as taught by Thomas Ashley-Ferrand Mahadeva.
